Saucy Redheads Make Delicious Bloody Marys

Redhead Hot Sauce

“It’s official, we are doing a Bloody Mary/Redhead (Bloody Redhead!) tasting on Dec. 16 from 1-4PM at Waterfront Wines,” said an email that landed in my inbox recently.

The sender was a farm share friend of mine, Cindy List, the purveyor of a popular local hot sauce, which I was lucky enough to get my hands on recently. I soon learned it is on its way to becoming a Brooklyn household staple.

Starting with her close group of friends who would come over with empty jars, Cindy’s Redhead Hot Sauce is a delicious homemade success now making its way onto the local market. Local bars featuring this unique blend in their bloody mary mixes include Sample (152 Smith Street), Ciro’s (307 Smith Street) and Bar Corvo (791 Washington Avenue).

Stop by Waterfront Wines this Sunday to try it for yourself and look out for where to get your own jar soon.

  1. I’m so excited for the tasting this Sunday! Delicious Red Head bloodies and an amazing view of the river and lower Manhattan. Pier 5 , a stones throw from the shop just opened today! The tasting is from 1 to 3pm.
