Dare you to watch this video and not click away. Let's play a game and see how long you can keep your high speed internet brain focused on the content. It's Postcards from 1952 by Explosions in the Sky, which I'll be honest I enjoy listening to while I do what I'm doing right. now.
The slow and ethereal video is directed by Peter Simonite and Annie Gunn and it's over SEVEN MINUTES long. Maybe rebrand it as a short film and project it onto the side of a coffee house and/or bar. Yeah. That'll do it. Or you could just start the backlash right now and prove everyone wrong about how people consume media on the internet. Let's do that instead.
The song is off of their fifth studio album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. The video is sweet and nostalgic, the co-directors took vintage polaroids from the 1950's and recreated them, even going so far as using flash bulbs from the era to light the scenes. (Simonite was also a cinematographer for Terence Malick'sTree of Life.)
