A 97-year-old WWII vet is in danger of being evicted from his $63 a month Sunset Park apartment. The controversial landlord of the former merchant marine, who survived a Nazi U-boat torpedo attack, claims he wants the vet to leave because he thinks his live-in caregiver is going after his savings. The vet, who has lived in the same apartment since he moved to the states after the war in 1945, told the Daily News, "I will stand up and fight him now. I am scared of nothing."

Crain's reports that a neo-classical landmark in Williamsburg is up for sale for the first time in its 135 year history. The original Williamsburgh Savings Bank, on the corner of Bedford Avenue and North 3rd Street, is currently owned by HSBC, and listed for sale one week ago.

In other Williamsburg news, tenants on the top floor of a building in the Marcy Avenue housing projects are outraged because the city refuses to fix leaky roofs and cracks that are causing black mold to grow in the apartments, despite calls and visits over the last three years. According to the Brooklyn Paper, the leaks have forced a 75-year old woman to stop sleeping in her bedroom and caused spotted black mildew to grown in the bathroom of a 65-year old man, the one blemish in his home.
