Recently featured and almost famous Kevin Johnston plays Rockwood (2) Music Hall with a Brooklyn invasion! The talented and adorable crew of Pearl and the Beard rock the house with their usual foot stomping strings and things set. Kevin sings songs about being sad and songs about being happy then Great Elk (Paul Basile) closes with a set on the heels of there June E.P. release. This contingent of Brooklyn talent hits 196 Allen Street on the regular, making it a home away from home for many new and established BK folk.

This Friday you'll be heading over to 210 Kent Avenue again when the art space will house some of BK’s queer giants. The fierce and fab House of La Dosha, Mirror Mirror, and DJ Pasternak will lay it down. Mirror Mirror is the cute Ryan Lucero; we aren’t sure what his deal is, but we ARE interested. La Dosha is three out of this world cross dressing, drag, queer boy magicians who are guaranteed to freak you out and make you dance. Neat space, bangin’ performers, and near by Kent amenities make this a pretty perfect Friday night.

Yum! A celebration of Caribbean culture at BAM! Some of the cities top Caribbean Restaurants will be featured along side some Caribbean inspired clothing creations at the BAMcafe in Fort Greene. A wine and spirits pairing with the food is included with the ticket. Chances to win new duds and eat tasty treats for only $30 is a great afternoon date. The Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette will house the delicious event and you can grab a ticket here. You might even score some ox tail!
