Brunching Outdoors: Siggy’s Good Food
Outdoor seating on the quiet Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights at Siggy's Good Food is ideal. The cafe is only one block from Cadmen Plaza Park, and a five-minute walk from the new Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1 (the walk to which takes you oh so conveniently right past the Ice Cream Factory). The organic menu makes brunching here a pleasure; you won’t leave feeling too stuffed or dissatisfied. They offer your traditional weekend morning delights like omelets, breakfast burritos and egg sandwiches, but they take them to the next level with super fresh ingredients and small additions, like mushrooms and spinach on the egg muffins. Don't be scared by the dishes that seem ultra healthy – the acai berry bowl, quinoa French toast, and the sesame fried tofu and onion salad are all delicious.
If you're more prone to liquid breakfast, you could make a meal out of just their smoothies. The offer a full fresh juice bar and delicious concoctions with special ingredients like Spirulina multi-nutritional powder, lecithin, milk thistle, and protein powder that will cure your hangover with less hairy dogs. Unfortunately, Siggy's does not offer bloody Marys or mimosas, but they do have a nice list of organic wines, so sit back, relax, and sip a glass of red.
