Sponsored Post: A Stooper With Absolut Brooklyn

By No Comments thumbnail-7249

Though Brookynites might be more familiar with brown bagging that 40 ounce, BrooklynTheBorough.com gathered together with some good friends to try something fresh: stoopin' it with a brand new bottle of Absolut Brooklyn (a Spike Lee collaboration – not a joint!).

You've probably heard a lot about this locally branded booze making it's debut at this year's Brooklyn Blogfest tonight, but here at BrooklynTheBorough.com we thought we'd show the world how to put together a stoop party, Brooklyn-style. Recipe: friends to drink from your kitschy '60s glassware filled with one part Absolut Brooklyn (Red Apple and Ginger flavored vodka!), one part cranberry and one part ginger ale. If you're like us, you forgot the limes. We always do!

The bottle of this Big Apple flavored vodka ($24.99) is decorated by an illustration of Spike Lee's childhood home, which wasn't too far from the very Fort Greene stoop that cradled us.

So for one night, forget paying those exorbitant bar tabs, grab a bottle of Absolut Brooklyn, some mixers and head to your nearest stoop for jokes, people watching and strange encounters destined only for the resident eccentrics of this place we call home.

Has Lou Reed Asked Your Band to Grab a Slice?

And now, a follow up. BrooklynTheBorough.com noted a Lou and Laurie sighting in December when local duo Buke & Gass played a homecoming show at Mercury Lounge. We had no idea the evening would end with the couple asking the band out for slices of pizza – or a full blown collaboration.
