A weekend of top tier music foks! This weekend is perhaps the most exciting weekend of singers, songwriters and hit makers from almost every era. Dare I say, my favorite weekend birthday line-up ever? Get out there and dance and let these birthday folks serve as a play-list!

Ben Harvey brings you GUMBO in DUMBO again! DJ Tyler Stone (Rockbar and Sugarland) 2-for-1 drinks, 2 bars and 2 floors.  Dancing on the stage is always a highlight and they’ve got it all cleared off for your dancing shoes. Get Gay Travel chauffeurs, supplies & rides for party goers and for 5 bones pre-midnight it’s a done deal. Haircuts, signature cocktails, and cuties at last week's party make this a pretty tempting affair. Near by Superfine is super tasty and you can grab a nosh beforehand.

Celebrity Birthday: Brooklyn native Notorious B.I.G was a BIG deal. He hit the scene hard and left it harder.

Drink of Choice: Hennessy

North Brooklyn’s 3rd Ward is having their Annual Birthday Bike BBQ at their home on Morgan Avenue. The contributors, their readers, and the teachers will all be on hand to hang.  Live music provided by Pink Noise, Hand & Cupcakes, and more. DJ Drew Heffron and DJ Sirlinda. They’ll be helping tune up your bikes; supply lots of yummy barbecue, and custom screen-print the t-shirt off your back. Free demos on bookbinding, sculpture, welding and all walks of craft all for free!  Plus, they’ll be a bicycle-powered sound system you’ll have to see to believe.

Celebrity Birthday: Mood killer and pre-emo ballad maker Morrissey started with The Smiths and still made it solo.

Drink of Choice: Coffee, black

5.23|Sunday

Yay! A May ride with Dykes on Bicycles is a summer must! (Meet and greet these crazy gals [and folks!] before our Queerespondence party at Bar4 on the next first Saturday, June 5).  This Sunday they’ll start at Christopher Street Pier and head up the river.  Check out their website for details and info on future endeavors. A ride for intermediate cyclists, they’ll be making a quick stop after Hudson River Park Greenway for some snacks and killer views of the George Washington Bridge. The ride ends at The Cloisters.

Celebrity Birthday: Rosemary Clooney swooned and swayed to classic hits. She was also a total riot.

Drink of Choice: Martini Up olive

BAM is screening a film directed by the secretive and now famous Banksy.  The film features fellow graffiti artists Shepard Fairey and Invader and offers a rare opportunity to learn more about these little known few.  Exit Through the Gift Shop is a film turned around. Banksy flips the script and begins documenting the film’s original director. A great date night #7 plus Moe's is just around the corner for that pre- or post- movie discussion.

Celebrity Birthday: Subtle Activist and Folk King Bob Dylan is perfect summer listening.

Drink of Choice: Soda and Scotch

5.25|Tuesday

A hot way for any Brooklyn boy to make an appearance in Manhattan; Portfolio artist and photographer Jason Rodgers will be showing Father Figures, a collection of original prints, at Envoy Enterprises.  A reception downstairs at the adorable HOME SWEET HOME will be an excellent spot to cruise for your own father figure. Too much? Probably.  For one-night only from 6-8pm get an eye full.

Celebrity Birthday: Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation was one of the last complete and perfect albums, too bad she lost her shit.

Drink of Choice: Sparkling Something
