Easy Labor

Summer is over! Horror of Horrors! I am not buying it! Let’s get out on this holiday weekend and twerk! It’s a Ladies Only birthday lineup and there are plenty of show-stopping parties sure to beat your Labor Day blues!
Friday
Clinton Hill’s Outpost Lounge has hosted many a queer night, one of which includes the tasty Skittles Party. Always a real wallet pleaser, Skittles offers cheap beer and even cheaper boys. This time Reform School is back in session! Naughty tomboys and sweaty cheerleaders are hot for teacher. DJs Jeffo and Lark teach physical education by spinning new wave and post punk to get your cardio going. Your principal for the evening is M.C. Casey Spectacular who comes in tow with a classroom full of bad girls. Multimedia projections and performances guarantee a well rounded schooling. Don’t ditch class; be ready to discuss all that summer reading!
Celebrity Toast: The not-so-single lady Beyonce Knowles, who was spotted getting down to Grizzly Bear in the burg last weekend, turns 27. We are hopping her home-sewn mother makes a big b-day gown! Bring it Tina!
Drink of Choice: Red Wine
Saturday
Hug’s end of the summer offering encourages you to rock out with your clock out! Stop time while Brian C. Maci hosts a lineup of bi bi-coastal DJs including Maestro Picante, Full Time Fun, and Todd Lerone. The Labor Day weekend kick off will include an open vodka bar from 11-11:30 PM.
Celebrity Toast: The charmed Rose McGowan celebrates a bewitched birthday! Such a fox!
Drink of Choice: Anything bought by rich directors
Sunday
The Love Hangover party at East Village hotspot Eastern Bloc gives great face. Usually a smattering of sequin and sass, this sadly might be the last installment of Hangover. Hit the disco dance floor manned by Josh Sparber and Gant Johnson. Josh is a treat and has spun the infamous Booty Call in San Fran. This month’s guest hostess Shaquanda Coca Mulatta keeps you up all night! Plus, good news: NO WORK on Monday. So stay out late and enjoy the fruits of all that labor, honey. Kick back and take a fruit home!
Celebrity Toast: Rosie Perez is my favorite person, perhaps even my spiritual guide. Did y’all catch her on Bonnie Hunt’s tragic show? The squeaky voiced hot tamale is plugging a cooking book. I’m buyin’ what she’s sellin’, ya heard?
Drink of Choice: Sass with a shot of Tequila
Monday
The Logo Channel doesn’t usually produce anything I want to watch. My roommates and I have often speculated that if we posted a You Tube video of us being gay in our apartment to something we make on Garage Band we could easy place in their New Now Next pop music series. But, what is new, and totally intriguing is the screening Logo will host in Central Park. Were the World Mine by Tom Gustafson, is a gay take on Shakespeare’s Midsummer which sounds neat. Catch the screening, totally free, at 9pm.
Celebrity Toast: Gloria Gaynor has proved that she will indeed survive. Almost 60 and she looks 45!
Drink of Choice: The Fountain of Youth Potion that Isabella Rossellini was dealing in Death Becomes Her
