Tracy Westmoreland called us with an update in the ongoing saga of his bar, the Manhattans, in Prospect Heights.  The former Siberia owner says he’s reached an agreement with his financial partner to remain open and seek a new investor for at least five more weeks.

"I’m definitely here fighting the good fight," he said of rumors that the bar had been shuttered by the owner last weekend.  The bar’s characteristically dive atmosphere – with old editions of the New York Post plastered over large voyeuristic windows – lends passersby to believe it might be closed, when in fact, patrons are required to ring the buzzer to the right of the door.

"We’re going week to week so come down and support us," Mr. Westmoreland said.
